November 13, 2010 = a day I will never forget.
It all began when Holly and I were walking to the gym after convo. A thought popped into my head and I said, "You know what I want to do this weekend?" Holly says, "what?" I say, "VA beach." "OK." And from that point on we planned what would turn out to be an incredible and unforgettable day.
Well, the plan was to get up on Saturday morning at 4, and leave for the beach, to be there by 8 am., but in the morning both of us ignored our alarm clocks and I was awakened by Holly at 5:30 saying "Courtney! It's 5:30!" I jumped out of bed, Michelle looked at me like I was insane (she may be correct), and grabbed my bag that I had packed the night before and we went to the car.
And so began our roadtrip to VA beach. The drive went pretty fast and we got there at about 9:45. I parked in a Rite Aid parking lot with a sign that said "towing enforced 24 hours a day." We grabbed coffee and donuts at 7-11 and then walked to the beach. We set up our towels and just relaxed for a while. We took a walk on the beach. Relaxed some more. Built an amazing sand recreation of the LU campus. Took tons of pictures. It was starting to get dark and cold then so we grabbed our stuff and went to my car (Yes, it was still there). We went to Target and a thift store just for the fun of it, and then we went to Applebees! The drive home was also pretty good, we only got turned around once in a really tiny creepy place.... but we survived thankfully and have lived to tell the story. On the way back we found this song on one of Holly's cds and it's totally exactly what happened. It's pretty good too, give it a listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvdbFSX261c&feature=related . Oh, we also didn't tell anyone where we were going which was pretty entertaining. It'll be a story to tell the kids one day. Haha
So that's a shortened version of my November 13th. If you wanna hear more, come find me. Pictures will soon be on facebook. Totally spontaneous and totally amazing. =)
